Terms of Service — seenBox

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (hereinafter "ToS") define the conditions for accessing and using the seenBox iOS application (hereinafter "the Application"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, the user accepts these ToS without reservation.

seenBox is a native iOS application that allows users to track films and anime they have watched, manage a personal watchlist, rate content, and write reviews.

3. Access to the application

The Application is available exclusively on the Apple App Store for compatible iPhone devices running iOS 16 or later. Access requires a compatible device and an internet connection.

The publisher reserves the right to suspend or interrupt access to the Application at any time, in particular for maintenance, updates, or force majeure reasons, without this giving rise to any compensation.

4. User accounts

Certain features of the Application may require the creation of a user account. The user agrees to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating their account and to keep their login credentials confidential.

The user is solely responsible for any use made of their account. Any suspected unauthorized access must be reported immediately to the publisher.

The publisher reserves the right to suspend or delete any account in the event of a breach of these ToS.

5. Services

seenBox provides users with the following features:

• ¹Tracking watched films and anime episodes
• ²Managing a personal watchlist
• ³Rating content on a personal scale
• ⁴Writing and storing personal reviews
• ⁵Browsing a catalogue of films and anime

The publisher reserves the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time without prior notice.

6. User content

Users may generate content through the Application (ratings, reviews, lists). The user retains ownership of the content they create, but grants the publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display this content within the Application.

Users agree not to post content that is defamatory, illegal, offensive, or in violation of third-party rights. The publisher reserves the right to remove any content that breaches these ToS.

7. Personal data & GDPR

The Application collects and processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable French law. The data collected may include: name, email address, usage data, and content created within the Application.

Users have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port their personal data. To exercise these rights, contact: nicolas@becharat.me.

Data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties.

8. Intellectual property

All elements of the Application (design, code, graphics, name, logo) are the exclusive property of the publisher and are protected by intellectual property law. Any reproduction, distribution, or modification without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

Film and anime metadata (titles, posters, descriptions) may be sourced from third-party APIs (such as TMDB or AniList) and are subject to their respective terms of use.

9. User conduct

Users agree to use the Application in compliance with applicable laws and these ToS. The following are prohibited:

• ¹Any use of the Application for illegal purposes
• ²Attempting to access unauthorized areas of the Application
• ³Automated scraping or data extraction
• ⁴Uploading malicious code or content
• ⁵Impersonating another user or person

10. Limitation of liability

The Application is provided "as is." The publisher makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the Application or its content.

The publisher shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Application, including loss of data.

11. Modifications

The publisher reserves the right to modify these ToS at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes through the Application or by email. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated ToS.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These ToS are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will seek an amicable resolution before referring to the competent courts of France.
